Laying the Line

Well, this weekend was a whole lot of hard work. It should have been easier, but as with any good project, there was a "snag" along the way. Roots to cut through, ditches to dig a bit deeper and angled a bit different, rock to dig "through" and a broken pipe or two to repair along the way. It made for hard work on the part of the menfolk, and a joyous result at the end of it all.

Because I didn't get a picture of the trailer gutted with the exception of the bathroom, I popped in to show the inside progress so far. It doesn't look like much I know, but it really is a lot, and this weekends work had NOTHING to do with the inside of the trailer.

Some of the menfolk digging deeper and cutting their way through to get down the hill...LOTS of roots and rocks along the way...

Insert broken pipe(s) here. One broken water pipe we had to repair, and one pipe for the electrical line broken. Knew exactly what to do for the water pipe, but took some "weighing of the options" to figure out what they wanted to do about the electrical piping.

More menfolk hard at work on some of the pipes...these boys will never know how much we appreciate all the hard work they have put into this project with us, it would take us a million times longer to get things done without their help...

Digging is done, and now pipe being laid...

YAY....piping for the electrical line to live in....

They got it all in and I got a VERY enthusiastic phone call from my dear sweet husband when the electrical was all connected... To say he was excited about how much power we have down on our humble section of land would be the understatement of the year..

and just because I LOVE the beauty that God created for us to enjoy, I decided to add a couple more pics that has nothing to do with the work...

                                                     The Snowball Tree

A side view of the cabin, rusty tin roof and all, I love it...

Hope you are enjoying the progress of it all, and have a wonderfully blessed day,

A Homeschooling Kind of Day

It has been such a beautiful day of sunshine and homeschooling, just thought I would share a couple pics of the schooling part :0)

OK, so the map at the end has really NOTHING to do with school...we just really love it, and ponder over it so often that I just had to share a picture of it.
This week marks the end of another learning period, and next week marks the start of the FINAL learning period of the year...I was kinda taken by surprise how quickly that snuck up on us. I remember so clearing at the beginning of the year how I wondered if we would ever be able to cover this mountain of schoolwork in the allotted time, and here we are closing in on it all. I am so thankful we have chosen this path with all its ups and downs and thankfully there are WAY more ups than downs. I am so thankful for this time with my children, teaching them and watching them grow. I am so thankful that the Lord has given us what we need to walk this journey together. We are looking forward to summer and all it has to offer, mainly Older Brother homecomings and lots of Redwood Creek time and somewhere in there the hope of visiting family and old friends. We shall see....
Have a wonderfully blessed day!!!

Demo Day

Demo day was actually quite a blessing for us. We had some family and some friends come up and help us, and it all went pretty quickly. Here are a few pics of this weekends progress:

We decided to change the location of WHERE to set the "new" trailer, the green one will be gone soon.

I had to share a picture of our awesome grand-doggy Mac (he pretty much rocks)

The insides of the trailer, OUT!! WOOHOO!!

Menfolk working hard at demo (they seemed to really enjoy tearing things apart....hmmm)

Maggie and Mama peaking in through the window where the couch used to be:

OK, SO....my stinking camera ran out of batteries before the end of it all, but the stove, sink and counter are all gone too, as is all the flooring. The only thing we left in there is the bathroom.

At the end of it all, some people had to head back down the hill, and some us of stayed behind and enjoyed the first REAL campfire of the season. (last weekends campfire was more of a smoke-fest, than a campfire). It was such a great way to end a busy day! I SO enjoy sitting around a campfire with friends and family and just enjoying the time together...

With all that I am, and all that I have within this minuscule being of mine, I can never cease thanking and praising my Lord for so many things, but right now, I feel so little in the light of the SO much He has done for us.

Hope you all have a wonderfully blessed day!!!

Trailer Part 1 (yep, I'm gonna do it)

I decided to go ahead and post some before, during and after pics. At the very least I will be able to look back and see the amazing blessings the Lord has blessed us with. Above is the "old" trailer, and below is the "new" trailer.

Can't you just see it?? All cleaned up....painted bright fresh colors on the inside, new flooring, new appliances, new curtains.....it's all so clear in my minds eye, and I cannot wait!! Not sure if we are going to paint the outside yet, probably will, but need to do a little homework on that first. I believe the Lord has given us a vision, and we are gonna run with it as long as HE allows. Keep us in your prayers :0) It should also be noted that there will be a great amount of demo going on. Stay tuned...

A Beautiful Mid-Week Visit

We got to take a glorious trip to The Creek this week....
With Spring in the air, that means lots of hard work to get everything ready for a great summer of fun. This Spring however, means MORE than usual hard work: we were blessed with a new-to-us trailer. One that is twice the size of what we have up there, and that we get to completely gut and make our own. We are very excited. I haven't decided yet if I will blog our progress (before and after) but today, I will share the beauty of Spring at Redwood Creek.

My Japanese Maple is full of fire....so beautiful!

Miss Maggie, patiently waiting for her caterpillar to open up:

Our Bayberry Bush with fresh blooms on it:

I LOVE how green it is in Spring:

A whole load of apple blossoms on the apple trees:

And frankly, I just liked the way the sun was shining through the trees :0)

I know we have a lot of hard work in store for us over the next few weeks, but I also know that because God has provided EVERYTHING for this project, He will make it all worth the work in the end. I am just in a continual state of awe when I think about all He has done, and all He has provided, and how He KNOWS the desires of our heart. Even when we think we know what we will settle with instead of what we really want, He just steps in and gives us exactly what we really wanted.  :0) I am SOOOO in love with my Jesus, my Savior, my Father, and my Comforter!!
Have a truly blessed weekend!!
